Faith is such a powerful word. It has so many meanings. And yet, sometimes people still have a negative reaction when it comes to this word. But having faith is one of the most important things any entrepreneur or business owner needs if they they want to be successful.

Starting a business is not cheap. There are lawyer fees, permits (depending on your service), and registration fees when you register with the state. And when everything is said and done, you are easily looking at over a $1K investment.

Before I launched my business, I did the research, I learned the market I was trying to enter, and I made sure I had faith in myself before I made the investment. I know to some, $1,000 isn’t that much, but to me it was. And I can’t tell you how many times I went back and forth contemplating whether or not I believed in myself enough to take the risk. Obviously I did, but the internal battle I had with myself was pretty intense.

Every day I thought to myself, “wow, I could be throwing $1,000 away. That’s hundreds of lottery tickets, dozens of dates, and more cases of beer than I’d know what to do with.” I know that might sound silly, but it was my honest thought process. Eventually, I did make the investment and launched my brand, but it took a long time before I truly had enough faith and confidence in myself to do it. And then it failed.

When this happened, I could have easily given up, made excuses as to why the world was against me, and complain how it’s not fair. But I didn’t do that. This was when my faith was tested. I had to restart. Even though I made sales, I was in the hole. I had to invest personal assets to keep my business alive.

When I had to shut down and basically restart, that moment sucked. I felt like a complete failure for a long time. But I wouldn’t trade that moment for anything because I was presented with a choice: play the victim or rise up. I chose the latter because I realized I did have enough faith in myself to truly pursue the business.

Faith is one of those words that has so many meanings. But when it comes to building a business, you need to have faith in yourself. If you don’t, you will never succeed. If you don’t have faith, when that moment comes where you have to choose between being the victim of an unfair system or truly going all in, you won’t go all in. Faith is a powerful word. And faith is something you must have.

My New Design

Grungy, and slightly awkward, this shirt says one word: Faith

When creating something, you need to have faith in yourself or it will never work

I chose this font because there’s cracks in it and it’s not perfectly symmetrical. That represents the struggles and doubt you will have on your journey. But, as long as you truly do have faith in yourself, you will be unstoppable!
